Our First In-Person Event

This past weekend marked a major milestone for Shop Cards USA, LLC as we attended our very first in-person event as a vendor. We had the opportunity to meet collectors face-to-face, connect with fellow hobbyists, and become part of one of the Central Valley’s fastest-growing card communities. It was an exciting weekend filled with great conversations, incredible collections, and a reminder of why we love this hobby.

Location

The event took place in Clovis, California, at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District, a great venue that brought together collectors from across the Central Valley and beyond. The atmosphere was welcoming, family-friendly, and packed with energy from the moment the doors opened.

About the Card Show

We were proud to be part of the CVC Show (Central Valley Cards & Collectibles Show), one of the premier trading card and collectibles events in the Central Valley. The show has quickly built a reputation for bringing together sports card collectors, Pokémon fans, memorabilia enthusiasts, and vendors from throughout California. The Clovis event has grown into one of the show’s largest stops, featuring more than 150 vendors and drawing over 1,500 attendees.

This was our first time exhibiting at a CVC Show, and it certainly will not be our last.

Setting Up for Success

We arrived early Saturday morning to get our booth ready before attendees entered the building. Being there ahead of time allowed us to organize our display, showcase some of our favorite inventory, and make sure everything was ready for the day.

We were fortunate to have a fantastic booth location right near the main entrance and next to the security station. That gave us a great view of the entire hall while also putting us in one of the highest-traffic areas of the event. From the first attendees through the doors until the final hour, there was always someone stopping by our table.

A Packed Show from Start to Finish

The excitement was obvious before the show even opened. Long lines formed outside, and once the doors opened, the aisles quickly filled with collectors. Throughout much of the day, the rows were shoulder-to-shoulder with people buying, selling, trading, and hunting for their next big addition.

For us, it was an incredible experience. Beyond the sales, one of the best parts of the day was reconnecting with other local card shops and vendors who share the same passion for the hobby. Building relationships within the local collecting community is something we value, and events like this make that possible.

A special thank you goes out to our Local Card Shop (LCS) partners who sent collectors our way throughout the day. We truly appreciate the referrals and support. The trading card community continues to prove that when local businesses support one another, everyone benefits.

Launching Shop Cards USA has been an exciting journey, and seeing so many collectors support our first in-person event means a great deal to us. Every conversation, handshake, and new connection motivates us to keep growing and bringing more inventory, better deals, and exciting products to future events.

A Special Thank You to Our Founders

We want to give a special shout-out to Sam, Ian, Angel, and Peter for everything they did to make this event possible.

While everyone sees the finished booth and the excitement on show day, very few see the work that happens behind the scenes. The team was up until 1:00 AM the night before, organizing inventory, pricing cards, packing displays, loading vehicles, and making sure everything was ready for our first event. Then, they were back up early the next morning, helping set up before the doors opened and working the booth from start to finish.

A special recognition goes to Angel, who flew in from Las Vegas to be part of the event. Making the trip to support Shop Cards USA’s very first vendor show speaks volumes about the commitment our founders have to building something special together.

We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Gerald for stepping in to help throughout the day. His willingness to jump in wherever needed kept our booth running smoothly and prevented our team from getting backlogged during some of the busiest moments of the show. Having an extra set of hands made a tremendous difference, and we’re incredibly grateful for his support.

The next time you see Sam, Ian, Angel, Peter, or Gerald at a local tournament or card event, give them a high five and say hello. They’re helping build more than a business. They’re helping build a community centered around the hobby we all love.
