Traits to keep an eye on in the Gundam TCG

With the release of the 2nd booster box(GD02) of the Gundam TCG on the horizon; most, if not all, of the current decks from the 1st booster box(GD01) and wave 1 of structure decks(ST-01 - ST-04) will be getting support. These are the top traits players will want to start collecting to prepare for future deck building.

1. Neo Zeon/Zeon

While the 1st booster box released cards from Mobile Suit Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, the 2nd Booster box will have start to feature Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. Neo Zeon isn't too prominent in the 1st half of Zeta Gundam; however, the 2nd half is where Neo Zeon, currently lead by Haman Karn, starts to make their move. 

Meanwhile for Zeon, the ending of the 1 year war should result in another of Char's personal machine, the Zeong. Mobile Suit Gundam Gquuux should also provide some new units and pilots such as Challia Bull, Char's partner.

2. Earth Federation

As long as Zeon/Neo Zeong gets support, its counterpart in the UC timeline will receive support. The One Year War has quite the number of mobile suits, and there could be a possibly new RX-78-2 in its iconic Last Shooting pose. Gquuux offers very little in regards to the Earth Federation, however there were a few mobile suits that were shown like the Guncannon(GQ).

The green Earth Federation in the GD02 isn't technically blue Earth Federation support, as the Mobile Suits in green Earth Federation are from a different series and timeline altogether. Mobile Suit Gundam Age is the green Earth Federation, and while it seems that most of green Earth Federation will not work with blue, they still share the same traits. So cards like Jegan that look for the Earth Federation trait still synergize with this other Earth Federation.

3. Newtype/Cyber-Newtype

Both Zeon/Neo Zeon and Earth Federation have newtypes/cyber-newtypes and generally  are very powerful pilots. As we head deeper into the UC timeline like Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam or even Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ we will start to see that trait more often from the MCs of each UC timeline series.

Mobile Suit Gundam Gquuux will also be adding quite a bit more newtype pilots, so keep an eye out for cards that mention newtypes or cyber-newtypes.

4. Zaft

While Zaft isn't doing too hot currently however, the tease of an ex deck featuring the Impulse Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny. While the release is set for March, and the color shown isn't red, Zaft cards do not look for color for their effects and usually look for the Zaft trait instead. Red Zaft is also missing a key character in the Rau Le Creuset and his Providence Gundam, Kira Yamato's final opponent in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed.

While there are more traits to look into, these are my top traits to start collecting, or to keep an eye on, for future deck lists.
